DESIGN, IMPLEMENTATION & ACCOUNTABILITY. This course equips participants with the skills and tools needed to manage humanitarian projects from conception through to closure. It covers project lifecycle, planning, budgeting, monitoring & evaluation, stakeholder management, risk, ethics, proposal writing, and adaptive strategies. Practical exercises and real case studies will allow participants to apply what they learn in realistic settings.

Overview

Duration: 5 weeks (≈ 50 hours)

Target Audience: Project managers/coordinators in NGOs, development & humanitarian workers, field officers, M&E specialists, and others seeking to lead or support humanitarian projects.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

1- Understand the full project cycle in humanitarian settings from needs assessment through design, implementation, monitoring & evaluation, to closure.

2- Use tools such as log frame or logical framework, problem-tree analysis, Theory of Change (ToC), stakeholder mapping.

3- Plan realistic work plans, budgets, resource allocation, risk mitigation strategies.

4- Monitor progress with indicators and adapt projects when contingencies arise.

5- Ensure accountability to donors, communities, and stakeholders.

6- Report on project outcomes and conduct lessons-learned / project closure effectively.
